Our guest houses
Our two guest houses both fit in with the harmonious architecture of the small group of buildings that make up the Emmental hamlet of Hof, a place that offers you a pleasant ambience of relaxation, peace and quiet. We look forward to finding a place to suit your needs.
We have taken care to use natural materials right from the construction phase, by relying on timber from our own forest. When it comes to dining, we also set great store by home-grown produce, be it from nearby farms, the local region or Switzerland as a whole. In the bedrooms, natural soft furnishings, lambswool-filled pillows and duvets and linen sheets create the best conditions for a pleasant night’s sleep.
You can opt for self-catering, or take advantage of our offers listed below. The barbecue facilities are at your free disposal. The nearest restaurant is 1.5 km (just under a mile) and the nearest shops 4 km (about 2½ miles) away.
You can extend your guest-house stay by booking an early check-in at the time of registration.
The “Ofehüsli” guest house
The 70 m2 (753 sq. ft.) Ofehüsli guest house offers short or longer-term accommodation for groups of 2 to 4 persons.
Three years of skilfully applied craftsmanship have gone into converting this former oven house, which stands some thirty yards away from the main farmhouse, into an attractive cottage-style guest house. We have put a lot of passion and attention to detail into transforming the formerly dilapidated structure, culminating in the spring of 2016, into a guest house with sleeping accommodation for four on the upper floor, full bathroom with shower, bathtub and toilet and seating area with barbecue.
The Ofehüsli is open from March to November.
The «Weidschürli» guest house
The 15 m2 (161 sq. ft.) Weideschürli guest house offers cosy, short-stay accommodation for up to two persons.
Surrounded by fruit trees, the Weideschürli guest house is about fifty yards away from the main farmhouse and Ofehüsli (a local dialect word for “oven house”). We have converted this former cattle stable into a cosy guest house, for opening in 2021. Equipped with its own small bathroom with shower/WC, it is designed to sleep two. It also comes with a small outdoor barbecue area.
The Weidschürli is open from April to October.
The «Weidschürli» guest house offers
Subject to pre-ordering, we will be happy to organise a cheese fondue (with ready-made mix) and bread, or a z’Nacht-Plättli supper dish of cold cuts, cured meats, cheese and bread.
Breakfast
We place great emphasis on serving home-made food based on local produce, sourcing it from our own farm whenever possible, or from our region or elsewhere in Switzerland. Our hearty breakfasts are designed to get you off to a good start.
We set you up for the day with
We serve breakfast at 8.30am in the cosy living room of the farmhouse or, in summer, in a shaded corner of the garden. If you prefer to have breakfast at a different time, please tell us in advance, and we can bring it directly to you to enjoy in the comfort of your own room.
